Lent 2023 | Day 11 | Saturday, March 04

Week No. 02

I welcome all thoughts, feelings, emotions, persons, situations, and conditions.

  • Welcome, welcome, welcome.
I welcome everything that comes to me today
because I know it is for my healing.

I welcome all thoughts, feelings, emotions, persons, situations, and conditions.

I let go of my desire for power and control.

I let go of my desire for affection, esteem, approval and pleasure.

I let go of my desire for survival and security.

I let go of my desire to change any situation, condition, person or myself.

I open to the love and presence of God and God’s action within.

    Amen.

Text in bold is this week’s focus.

Quote Of The Day

I’m proud of you for the times you wrestled with your problems and discovered how much that helped you grow. I’m proud of you for anything that allows you to feel proud of yourself.

- Mr. Rogers

Prompt Of The Day

What things have you done — what kind of wrestling — has allowed for you to feel proud of yourself today?

Despite the sticking points — despite the two steps forward and one step back (or maybe one step forward and two steps back, from time to time) — where can you congratulate yourself today?

Can you look in the mirror and say, “I’m proud of you for this”? Can you look you in the eyes and say, “I’m participating in my healing, and I’m proud of that”? Write about them.

Remember the welcoming prayer. When condemnations and anxieties rise, see them, but let them be... and wait patiently for the truth about how far you’ve come.

  • I’m proud of myself for sticking with my mental health work... for saying yes to the people who have offered to help me along the way and for learning to do the terrifying thing that is trusting my own intuition’s / body’s / the Spirit’s wisdom when it has pointed me in the direction of healing.
